Dear DFW Pug Rescue:
Just taking a few moments to send you a couple of pics of Lola. She is too adorable for words! We really wanted to make it to PugaPalooza, but life has pretty much been a "Do as you can & be glad you're able to do it" affair for us these past few months.
Our beautiful black Pug, SirBrutus, has had a hard, long battle with exploding mast cell cancer, complicated by the onset of diabetes. I'm overjoyed to say that he WON! The cancer is completely gone & his diabetes is under complete control--he's even off from his insulin! Of course, his diet is so closely monitored that he thinks he's "King for the Day" when he gets a treat that isn't a fresh veggie!
I will say that I think a very big part of his recovery is due to our sweet LolaBug. Brutus adores her! Dr Angie (his vet) is amazed at his recovery. She says she never imagined him acting like a puppy again after all this, but he runs & plays with Lola all day long. She has been his very own personal Guardian Angel.
